Some guests found the busy atmosphere overwhelming, especially during peak hours when the tearoom is bustling with customers. A few mentioned long waiting times during busy periods, particularly when the staff is fully engaged with other patrons. Others desire a wider breakfast menu variety, feeling that while there are indeed options, they may not cater to every palate. A couple of reviews pointed out that the seating can get crowded, especially when the tearoom hosts events like baby showers. A small number of diners felt that the prices for certain tea selections could be a bit steep, though many agree the quality justifies the cost. Finally, those expecting a strictly modern aesthetic might find the vintage style not to their taste.
I chose to visit here based on Google reviews, as hadn't visited Swad for a few years and wanted to find somewhere nice to bring my mum for lunch. It was a good first sign when she bumped into old friends as we walked in! We all decided to have a jacket potato, which came with a nice salad - potatoes nicely cooked and came with optional butter. My daughter and I treated ourselves to a deluxe milkshake each. Really pleasant environment with the vibe of a traditional tea room. Conveniently located for the high street and free parking available nearby. Good for kids and vegetarians.
Located in the centre of Swadlincote, this tearoom is a hidden gem. Breakfast is plentiful and you get a free tea or coffee with any breakfast. There was plenty of toast served with the breakfast along with a pot of tea or a mug of coffee. Food and drink is reasonably priced, varied dishes to choose from and a scrumptious choice of cakes which I have yet to try, will try one of their cakes next time. Staff were friendly and attentive, asking the group if they had enough food or wanted any sauce which was a nice touch. Thank you ladies
Went for afternoon tea for my partners birthday! What an experience. The lovely people running the tea room were so kind and accommodating. There were a lot of us and they were so good at making sure each of us had everything we needed. The afternoon tea was so delicious! There was so much food and they let us take it home too! I will be eating cake for tea for a week lol!! Definitely 5 stars and can’t recommend it enough! Will certainly be coming back for their delicious looking breakfast next time!
Bluebells hosted my baby shower, I already knew the place was amazing as we’ve been several times. The food is gorgeous, the staff are super friendly and the owners (I’m so sorry I don’t know your names) are clearly so passionate about what they do. They went above and beyond and by far exceeded expectations, everyone said how incredible the food was, especially the person who has a gluten allergy, she sometimes feels she misses out by not being able to eat gluten but said she was thoroughly spoilt here with the quality of taste of the food. Having the tearooms to ourselves was so special and meant we weren’t worried about disturbing anybody. They provided lots of lovely decorations and helped make it so special. Also been here lots of breakfast/lunch and one of the events that they do and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
When I stepped in the tea room we immediately got seated then we got asked what we wanted to eat then I chose a breakfast then for pudding I got Victoria sponge I’m freinds with the owner keeping going Lisa hope for the best
Lovely atmosphere. Ordered full english very tasty and fresh. Left with cake slices from their counter.
Fantastic food which we felt was well prepared and presented and good value. Pleasant staff who are chatty and helpful. Would recommend. Having walked round Swadlincote town centre for the first time in 15 years, this is possibly the nicest place to visit for a spot of lunch in the centre of Swad.
